MedWatch Gives Back!

Lake Mary, FL – 06/12/2024

MedWatch, an industry leader in concierge member advocacy and medical cost containment, extends its heartfelt gratitude to our team members who participated in events supporting two vital causes this summer: The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) virtual walk in May and The Trevor Project virtual walk in June.

Named after the three doctors who first described it in 1886—Charcot, Marie, and Tooth—CMT is a hereditary peripheral neuropathy that affects the nerves controlling muscles. Despite the lack of a cure or treatment, the CMTA is relentlessly pushing for advancements through research and support services, offering hope and resources to those impacted by CMT.

The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ youth. They provide information & support 24/7, all year round. The Trevor Project strives to end suicide among LGBTQ+ youth through five key programs: Crisis Services, Advocacy, Research, Peer Support, and Education and Public Awareness.

MedWatch’s commitment to service and giving shone brightly throughout the past year. We are proud to share the highlights of our team’s charitable efforts:

  • The Trevor Project Virtual Walk: 73 MedWatch team members participated virtually. Through the MedWatch Service and Giving Foundation, our generous donation was matched 1:1 by The Trevor Project’s Board of Directors!
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Virtual Walk: 58 MedWatch team members participated virtually, contributing to NAMI’s mission of improving the lives of those affected by mental illness. Donations supported mental health awareness, free programs, and community building.
  • U.S. Hunger Virtual Walk: 68 MedWatch team members joined the virtual walk, donating the equivalent of 6,800 meals. These contributions helped combat food insecurity, supported healthy meal programs, and made a significant impact on global hunger solutions.
  • Find Feed & Restore Virtual Walk: 56 MedWatch team members participated to support efforts against homelessness. Donations raised awareness and funds for housing, mental health counseling, and financial literacy for families and survivors of domestic violence.
  • Mission 22 Virtual Walk: 65 MedWatch team members walked virtually to support veterans and their families. These contributions helped promote long-term wellness and growth through outreach, events, and programs.

Additionally, MedWatch is proud to be a sponsor of this week’s HCAA’s TPA Summit in St. Louis and support the conference’s official charity, The Take Part Foundation. With more than 30 million children and families suffering from rare pediatric diseases, The Take Part Foundation was established to provide crucial funding to researchers dedicated to finding answers.  MedWatch invites others to  take part in supporting these, and all charitable organizations  whose work is essential in making a positive difference.
